it will get better - stay hydrated and try to get on OTC pain meds as soon as possible. move around and you will feel better.

My surgery was Wednesday too -- 730 a.m. but I just got home today. Sorry to hear you are in pain. Try sipping slowly. I heard that helps. And take those pain meds -- no point in waiting if you are in pain. A little tylenol might help. Wishing you the best.

Sorry I misspoke, the pain is very manageable here at home, so I don't need the pain mess as much, in fact I told them Thursday morning to take me off morphine and put me on my pain mess, it's the thirst and strong desire to open up a bottle of cold Water and chug that is the problem, I keep sipping and expelling and I even called the Dr.' Office, they said I am doing everything right, but I think it's because I was a very big water drinker these last few years, especially after letting go of sodas, and energy drinks, but hey if that's the worst of my symptoms I can count myself as lucky and I can work with it!!!!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
