smiranda 55 Posted June 12, 2015 My surgery date is June 16th. I've started packing for my hospital stay and so far have comfortable PJs, toothbrush/toothpaste, Chapstick and deodorant. I will also bring my phone/charger, iPad and earphones to tune out my roommate. I'm going home the same clothes I came in with. Is there anything I'm missing? I feel like I'm missing something. ShrinkingPeach 1,291 Posted June 12, 2015 Your list sounds perfect. idk how long your hair is but maybe something to put it up? Good luck!!
jane13 2,256 Posted June 12, 2015 I was told to wear home what I wore in (I checked in at 5am) and to not bring PJs (just a robe). I asked about slippers and they said they preferred patients to wear the non-skid footies they provide. Pillow to ride home with I would recommend. The bumps may be rough even with the gentlest driver. you will want to hold it to your tummy.

dknape 4 Posted June 12, 2015 With your IV in you're going to be stuck in the Hospital gowns until they remove it so I left the robe at home and just used a second Hospital gown as my robe. Extra underwear is good as well as you should be able to wear your PJ bottoms just about as soon as you can get up and walk. My mouth was really dry after surgery and just couldn't get enough Water so I picked up a mouth spray to help with dry mouth which helped some. I had my phone and ipad and hardly used either of them while in the Hospital as they don't let you get much sleep as they are always coming in and testing vitals, etc. Good Luck

Drzstephy 32 Posted June 13, 2015 I got sleeved this tuesday and wasnt allowed to bring anything to the hospital besides the clothes I already had on. after you are put in a room you are not allowed to change ur robe until u are discharged. They didnt even let me brush my teeth the first day as if i was gonna drink water...anyways i could only swab to moisten my mouth and lips. I wasnt even allowed to wear panties which in a way made it easier going to pee not having to bend to reach for my undies You have to walk every 2 hours and not allowed slippers, ur hooked to ur IV and the morphine pump so if i was u i wouldnt worry about packing just tell a family member to bring ur phone charger and a pillow for the ride.get as much rest as u can and walk walk walk . Good luck
smiranda 55 Posted June 13, 2015 My husband had his surgery and they let him put his tank top on and his pajama bottoms on. I don't think my hospital has any of that kind of restriction. I will be using their hospital socks tho. And a sports bra is a must for me. I sleep with a sports bra all the time. I just can't stand my boobs flopping around. no onions 258 Posted June 15, 2015 @@smiranda - in addition to what you've mentioned, I'm bringing qtips (cotton swabs), travel size Shampoo, travel size bodywash and biotene mouthwash. I don't know if I will be able to use the mouthwash, but if allowed, it's supposed to help with the dry mouth feeling that we will experience from not being able to drink. At least that's what I read on here somewhere. I may add some moist-towelettes or something to my list to wipe my face.

Moist towelettes is a good idea especially after every use in the bathroom.
