Java91 54 Posted June 12, 2015 I got a call from the marketing director of the hospital yesterday and they asked me to be the Spokesgirl for the Bariatric program!! They said they will pay for professional before and after photos, be on posters and write a blog about my journey. I have not committed myself to it yet, but I feel honored they asked me!! I get sleeved next Thursday, June 18! It's coming up so fast!! I am 24 years old and am currently around 263 lbs.

Java91 54 Posted June 12, 2015 Thanks! I want to. I asked if there was any compensation but probably not...that's ok, the opportunity is a great one!
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted June 12, 2015 Congratulations! I call opportunities like that "Resume Bait:" Especially since you are young, you should grab every opportunity you can handle, to do tasks and activities that are out of the ordinary for you. The next time you refresh your resume, you add any of these new accomplishments. It is a process that works and can often be that edge that sets you out from the crowd. Also, a prime skill to have for any job is public speaking. Addressing small groups is a great way to get comfortable with talking in front of the room. I hope you take this gift that is being offered to you. Good luck and may it boost your career in a positive way for the rest of your life.
