RANT: So, this morning, while checking in on my bariatric peeps, I see eight (8) posts from more low numbered posters just throwing useless non-bariatric links at us. I am expecting recent posts from forum members and just see crap except for a couple of folks. WTH?

I got a repetitive link in another language. Do you think it's a virus?

Never click on those weir links.

I reported them when I saw them. Alex asked me not to delete posts outright or they would be GONE by n ow..Haha. I am sure he will take care of them soon.

Report em if you see this kind of thing.

I duly reported but yeah what a pain! Spammers be gone! We need a block button for people we don't ever want to see in our feed again!

they are going to have to block IP addresses as this person is persistent in creating new accounts it seems.

yah, I've been reporting them but I can't keep up. As a former web admin...Spammers need a special place in Hell.

You have my permission (as do all the mods) to mark a member as a spammer. Once you do that, their posts are permanently deleted. Only use when it's outright spam (like today) and not when it's a questionable spammy sounding post.

It seems that the spammers found a way to work around the spam filters we have in place. It's a never ending battle with these guys. Most spam is posted by automated software bots and not actually people.

The best way to notify us of spam is by using the REPORT button found below each post. The button is a bit hidden unless you mouse over it:

Thank goodness, no! We just had annoying spammers blow the forum up with their stupid posts.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
