Teens of the 1960's

Recommended Posts

Just read in a post from 2012 someone calling us the "teens of the 1960's. That has made me laugh all day. Hope this brings a smile to others on this site. Sleeved on May 20th and have been on stall for the last 8 days. Reading that others are experiencing same thing really helps.

Yes, teens of the 60s resonates with me. I graduated from HS in 1969 so I truly am a child of the 60s. Nice to meet other 60s. Here are my details:

sleeved on dec 1, 2014

sw 236

cw190...today was the first time I saw this 190.

I have been on a plateau with no movement on the scale for 2 months. it is discouraging but other things have changed. Dress size 18 to 14

Yesterday I finally bought new bras..I was 44D. Yesterday 38 C. Yes that is progress.

Still fighting daily exercise as a habit.

Never heard that expression before, but I guess I'll embrace it!

I was also sleeved on May 20 and have been plagued with a 9 day stall. I even gained back two pounds which did not make me happy! This morning I had a pleasant surprise when I stepped on the scale and had lost the two regained pounds and also another pound and a half. I have done nothing different and have eaten by my nutrition booklet and I exercise every day. Today I started back to work so I hope just the stress of dropping back into the rat race took another pound off my belly. ???? I will find out when I weigh again on Sunday!

I did finally drop a 1/2 more. I'm not really concerned because I know weight has to come off sometime. So different from how I have felt on different weight loss attempts. An eight day stall would have put me in depression.

I'm so glad to hear that someone else had a 9 day stall that was sleeved on same day. Also glad you lost the 2 pounds and more. I will weigh on Sunday too.

Sharing a recipe I also shared on May sleevers, I made a pancake today with 2 tbs unflavored Quest Protein mix, 1 egg and about 1 tbs of milk to make desired consistency. Also added some stevia and cinnamon. I found it very satisfying with sugar free Syrup. Endless possibilities on expanding recipe. Read it in and older post.

Oh so encouraging that I could be where you are in a few months. I started at 237, am looking forward to those new bra sizes. Down 20 pounds and already getting positive comments. Still having trouble with Water and being nauseous.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
