I really felt incapable of losing weight i have not weighed myself but I feel like I lost something.

For the most part I have stayed true to my diet despite my hubby requesting my presence at the local Waffle House while he Chomps down on a full course Breakfast while I sipped on my delicious mouth watering Water. I stayed true to my diet that day.

I don't know if Pickle Juice is a cheater or not but it was dam good. I would drink sardine juice if I could, I am over this darn pre diet, mentally I am on mushy foods. I could stay there for a while.

One positive thing this diet has done for me is broken my sweet tooth.

Is Chick-fila diet lemonade okay for the full liquids?

Way to go, @@JosieAppleHead! Congrats on hanging in there. Glad to hear you've broken your sweet tooth!

I'm on Day 3 of my 10-Day pre-op liquid diet. One thing I've figured out: being compliant is a moment by moment process. You make the right choice one moment at a time. You can't do it any other way -- it would just be too hard.

Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted!!

Not very cool of your husband..... The diet lemonade should be fine as long as it is definitely the sugar free one. (Don't let them accidentally give you full sugar drink. That has happened to me on numerous occasions which really stinks since I am a diabetic.)

I feel so bad for you having to sit in the awful house and watch other people eat! When I was going through the liquid diet both preop and postoperative I could not get my husband to even eat anything in front of me.

It was his way of being very supportive and he thought it was cruel to eat anything in front of me.

It kind of made me a little crazy because I knew he was starving and would not eat unless I was in bed or gone. I finally convinced him that my choice to go through this should not punish him in the process. He finally started eating in front of me again but it took a very long time.

@@JosieAppleHead My hubby likes to eat out and we do regularly Breakfast Sat & Sun and Tues & Sat night. he has been wonderful and I asked him how he felt about ordering a la carte and maybe sharing a spoonful of eggs, etc. He is losing weight and we are saving money eating out. Longhorn he gets the redrock shrimp (2 skewers of 4), broccoli (in place of rice) a steak and loaded baked potato. I get the broccoli & 4 shrimp and it costs us nothing extra. I bring the liquid SF lemonade and add to Water or unsweetened tea. Huddle house is usually breakfast and I get an egg scrambled and a little of the ham he orders and a cup of black coffee.

its almost over!

my husband hasnt changed one bit and i wouldnt have it any other way, i dont think everyone around me has to change or adjust to make me feel better...i even cooked for him quite a bit on my preop, making enchiladas, grilling chicken and making a steak for him...i am on mushy foods now and i make his dinner then blend mine down to join him.

you will do great! just keep on trucking!

for me the preop diet was the hardest part

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
