amboyd 81 Posted June 10, 2015 Hi everyone! I was banded in 2012 and now going to start the process to be sleeved. When I was banded aetna had me go through a 3 month process . Do I have to do all the same things again or is it quicker.
majorsmama 91 Posted June 11, 2015 It's still the 90 day medically supervised weight loss.
Bndtoslv 292 Posted June 16, 2015 Yes but it wasn't hard for me. I had my band out in one procedure and then my surgeon required me to wait 3 months anyway before he would do the sleeve. Aetna approved both procedures easily. The 90 day diet shouldn't be a big deal because it usually takes a few months to do all the pre-op testing etc. required by your doctor. amboyd 81 Posted June 16, 2015 Thanks. I went in on Friday to see if I can switch. The girls submitted all my paperwork to aetna yesterday. They said I should get an answer within 2 weeks. Then I can start my pre op diet . So I can have my sleeve in about a month. I called my insurance and checked with them also. They told me that I didn't have to go through all the testing like before because the same doctor is doing it. They have all my info already. Nice
Rocky4521 0 Posted December 8, 2017 I know it has been quite some time. However I'm going in for revision if sleeve to bypass and also have Aetna. Did they require you to redo the 3mth or 6mth program? Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks
