I think you might be in starvation mode...are you working out at all? Sounds like you may need to work on boosting your metabolism. Be sure to discuss this with your nutritionist.

I like you was keeping my calories low but when I started eating 800/1000 calories a day I started losing more. I do use my treadmill for 30min a day. Good luck with you journey.

Make sure you are getting in all your fluids and truly measure and document your food. Sometimes we THINK we are at 600 calories and we are over. Agreed with the exercise for sure. good luck!

Hi la sole

Wow.... You are amazing, I got operated on 12 March around the same time as you and I have lost 30 pounds... Damn! That's nothing compared to what you have lost....

I workout 60 minutes on the treadmill, I walk 2 miles everyday and I don't seem to be losing enough.

My starting weight was 245 pounds... Gosh I m sooooo far behind comparing to what to have achieved in 3 months ????????????????????

Thank you, I still eat Soups and I tried to don't pass from 600 calories per day, but I some days I notes that I'm stock in my weigh and don't lost anything and is frustrate me. I'm stated with 395 and now I'm 235, but I was 331 and I don't know why I gain weight, sometime my hand and legs get swelling.

Why aren't you trying to pass the 600 calorie a day mark? Why are you counting calories?

Are you getting in all your Protein everyday?

Are you getting in all your Water everyday?

If so, then going over 600 calories is a good thing. If not, then not going over 600 calories is a terrible idea.

If you send your body into starvation mode youll not lose the weight....600 calories seems like a really low amount even for an average person....

You need the calories to make sure you lose fat and not muscle mass. Id speak to a nutritionist but 600 calories coupled with regular excersise seems like it could be damaging if done long term :s

You are not getting enough calories and I doubt you are getting enough Protein. That is crazy only eating 600 calories a day!!

Even 800 calories is too low. You should discuss without your doctor/nutritionist, but you should be shooting for closer to 1000-1200 calories a day (at least) and at least 70 grams of Protein, and drinking 64 ounces of Water daily.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
