I am one week post-op today. I have been following my doctors orders to a T minus getting all the Water in. I am not sleeping well at night and I am exhausted during the day. It's seems to be getting worse as the week goes on. Maybe because my body is changing but I'm not sure. Even taking a shower takes everything out of me. Thoughts?

Normal. The first three weeks were the most exhausting of my life. Just make sure you are getting fluids in. I literally had to rest after walking 15 feet.

I am one week post op today! I've felt the exact same everyday except today... Here's what I did differently yesterday- got in a little extra Protein, drank a little extra Water, and ate some of my Mimi's potato Soup broth.. I think the extra calories helped!

I feel the same. I am 10 days postop and tired constantly. I also can't sleep at night so i try to take naps during the day which I think makes the situation worse. I am trying to get in more Protein and Water but it's tough this early on. Have my 10 day appointments with my NUT and surgical nurse today so I will see if they have any other suggestions. I go back to work on Monday so I hope I can figure this out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
