Help. I am two weeks out from sleeve surgery and absolutely exhausted. Have been back at work for a week and could barely lift my arns this morning to brush my hair! I am at t puree food stage and feel as if I am getting enough food although not hungry at all. Is this normal?

Completely normal. You should get your energy back around week 4. My doctor suggested taking the first 4 weeks off work simply because of the fatigue.

But it does get better, I run and do all sorts of cardio now and have loads of energy.

My energy started to come back when I started regular cooked foods at 4 1/2 weeks. Up until then I was really glad I am retired. My previous job involved all day walking supervising housekeepers on ten floors of four buildings. No wonder I had a stroke at my weight. I have decent energy now.

Thanks for that. Nice to know I am normal. Luckily I sit all day at work so once I am here I can relax!

I am 2.5 weeks out and I am so tired after work. I fall asleep on the sofa after dinner every night, get up to take a walk. Then go to bed early! Its pathetic but hopefully it will get better with more solid foods and more calories...

I was so exhausted those first few weeks I would try to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and either fall back to sleep sitting on the side of the bed or on the pot. I couldn't even read a book because I couldn't concentrate. It got better around 4 weeks or so and definitely after I started back on real food.

Thanks for your replies. I feel as if I have turned a corner an am now just really tired! 10 hours sleep a night seems to be helping.

I am 2 1/2 weeks out and I feel the same way. Exhausted all the time. The nurse reassured me this is normal and it will get better. I do as much as I can but after I have been up moving around for a while I get real weak and my heart beats real hard. I am so ready for this fatigue to pass. I just keep reminding myself that I did have major surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
