lizcan 77 Posted June 9, 2015 Help. I am two weeks out from sleeve surgery and absolutely exhausted. Have been back at work for a week and could barely lift my arns this morning to brush my hair! I am at t puree food stage and feel as if I am getting enough food although not hungry at all. Is this normal?
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted June 9, 2015 Completely normal. You should get your energy back around week 4. My doctor suggested taking the first 4 weeks off work simply because of the fatigue. But it does get better, I run and do all sorts of cardio now and have loads of energy.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted June 10, 2015 My energy started to come back when I started regular cooked foods at 4 1/2 weeks. Up until then I was really glad I am retired. My previous job involved all day walking supervising housekeepers on ten floors of four buildings. No wonder I had a stroke at my weight. I have decent energy now. lizcan 77 Posted June 10, 2015 Thanks for that. Nice to know I am normal. Luckily I sit all day at work so once I am here I can relax!
hello new me! 9 Posted June 10, 2015 Tomorrow will make 4 weeks for me and I still get tired some days. Not near as much as weeks 1 and 2! It get better, I promise!!!
cindyt 24 Posted June 13, 2015 I am 2.5 weeks out and I am so tired after work. I fall asleep on the sofa after dinner every night, get up to take a walk. Then go to bed early! Its pathetic but hopefully it will get better with more solid foods and more calories...
jlcohio 24 Posted June 14, 2015 I was so exhausted those first few weeks I would try to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and either fall back to sleep sitting on the side of the bed or on the pot. I couldn't even read a book because I couldn't concentrate. It got better around 4 weeks or so and definitely after I started back on real food.
lizcan 77 Posted June 14, 2015 Thanks for your replies. I feel as if I have turned a corner an am now just really tired! 10 hours sleep a night seems to be helping.
mchap25 65 Posted June 15, 2015 I'm the same way. Two weeks out tomorrow and I nap in the afternoon and sleep 8-9 hours at night.
lexiemia 78 Posted June 15, 2015 I am 2 1/2 weeks out and I feel the same way. Exhausted all the time. The nurse reassured me this is normal and it will get better. I do as much as I can but after I have been up moving around for a while I get real weak and my heart beats real hard. I am so ready for this fatigue to pass. I just keep reminding myself that I did have major surgery.
