Im starting to get worried. Has anyone gotten the sleeve that ate normal sized portions before surgery. (predominately healthy) and had sucess with weight loss after surgery. The more people I talk to about portions they use to eat before surgery vs after, the more worried I get because my portions now are totally average for a normal thin person. frown emoticon I have surgery July 24. Though I HAVE lost 35 pounds in the last 4 1/2 months on my own by cutting out preservatives and going organic. BUT I have stopped losing weight, and I am scared that the surgery won't work because I eat such normal healthy portions already. Anyone who was in the same boat?

It's less about the portions than the overall amount consumed. Are you eating 800-1200 calories everyday now? If so, then this surgery might not help you, however if you're eating small portions but consuming 2000 calories a day, then the sleeve can be helpful. I was a very healthy eater who ate normal size portions, but I ate all day long so I consumed a lot of calories. I now eat baby size portions and I'm 111 pounds thinner. After the sleeve I went from eating fairly normally to not eating much at all and that was why it worked for me.

Hate to be the D in this, but if you were eating healthy thin person sizes, you wouldn't need WLS to begin with. You will lose weight and you will realize fast just how small your meals become and how much you ate before. On the plus side, if you are eating healthy, good for you! Better habits to start your journey
