Stall out on weight week 3-4

Recommended Posts

My weight had not moved for a week. I lost 20 lbs in the first the weeks. The next week nothing- it could cause a person to freak out. Any one else stall out this early?

I am 6 weeks out and hit a stall between weeks 3-5; I didn't lose any weight for almost 2 weeks (of course I was stressing out). Then, I lost 8 lbs in two days. Your body is just recovering from your first 20lbs. Just keep following what the nutritionist tells you and the weight will come off :)

Ugh,I understand. I'm just three weeks post op and have been stuck for two weeks! I'm going nuts. So frustraring. Following diet to a T. Lost 30 pounds since my pre-op diet now nothing for two weeks. I feel your pain. ????

I'm in the same boat. I lost 23 lbs fast. I'm at week 3 post surgery today, and I've stalled for 4 days at 299lbs. LOL Well, at least the scale is not going up. 44 lbs total lost, but I can feel it, people are already seeing a change in me, so I'll take those compliments and hope that scale moves soon! I'm not eating all I am supposed to be, I just can't seem to get in all my Protein yet. Fluids are eh, almost there. I just keep trying.

Good luck to all the stallers out there. We'll get through it!

I think I understand the science behind it....which helps, but doesn't mean I like it. LOL

I know how you feel. My weight also stopped at 4 weeks and it didn't change for a whole month. I was really frustrated but then it started falling off. I also hit one at 12 weeks that lasted for a while. I am 6 months out and I have hit another stall but I know it will pick up again. Don't lose hope, the weight loss will pick back up.

OK this is crazy, but today I got on the scale, and down 1 lb. LOL After complaining about stalling, which I did for a few days, but who knows if this is going to continue or not. Anyone's guess.

I'll just have to wait it out and see. :)

Well, here I am just over 2 weeks and still exactly the same weight! I even joined a gym and started working out....nothing. So frustrating. Think I may call the doc tomorrow. Maybe what I'm eating too high in calories? Turkey with lite mayo, chicken with lite mayo,1% cottage cheese, baby Cereal, Soup, avacado, hummus. I'm so frustrated

Dear Bostongirlforever:

When did you start to eat turkey and chicken? How long were you on full/soft?

Hi Nursedebbie!

I'm on puree now. I just buy canned chicken, tuna, turkey and throw it in the mini processor with a little lite mayo. But....I also haven't been bothered with any kind of food, except my Protein shakes, they make me gag!

I didn't mean to post that last one, I am three weeks and have been stalled as well. It's been since I went on soft foods. It's nice to know I am not alone.

I just finished week 2...heading into week 3. Glad I found this topic so I can be prepared. I keep hearing about stalls, they obviously happen at different times for different people...just hoping to keep my "head" on straight and remember it's all worth it. Good Luck everyone!! :)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
