Good day all,

I have a couple of last minute gastric bypass queries (laporoscopy if all goes well):

Where exactly will the wounds and dressings be - high enough to wear underpants and pants without interfering with them...

do T-shirts / night shirts have to be much looser than normally to accommodate the swelling and dressings?

Also, is anyone on Seroxat (UK) (Paxil in US) and could they please tell me if they were able to crush the tablets of if they had to ask for liquid form prescription.

Many thanks in advance to all for any advice.

Best Brigitte

All your incisions will be above your belly button. So you should be able to wear your regular underwear. Loose shirt or gown will work for after surgery.

A couple days after surgery I started wearing my compression tank top again. It made it to where my belly didn't move as much so my incisions didn't hurt so much when I moved.

It depends on where you wear your pants. I wear mine right at my belly button. My pants laid right across the incision there and the one holding the drain which was just to the side of my belly button. Elastic waist was fine, jeans were too uncomfortable for at least three weeks.
