Sleeve date - June 9th

Recommended Posts

My surgery day is right around the corner. I'm both nervous and excited. I'm nervous about all the cons I read about such as gas, Hair loss, etc. I know its all temporary so it won't be too bad I'm sure. I'm excited because this is a kick start to a healthier and fit ME! I've had 4 children and I've struggled losing weight over the past few years. After researching WLS for 1 1/2 years I've opted to go with the sleeve rather than the lap band. I'm 5'2 and my HW was 237. My CW is 224. I've always been active but I wasn't able to drop the weight as easy from my last two pregnancies. My ultimate goal is to become a certified fitness instructor :-)

Way to go @@fit4me0716! Good luck with your procedure! I didn't have any of the nausea or gas pains I had read about prior to surgery. Follow whatever pre-op plan you have, I really think that makes a difference! Will be thinking of you and saving you a spot on the bench!

Congratulations with your up-coming sleeve. I asked my surgeon how he handles pain management and that shoulder gas I was hearing about. He said he extracts as much as possible. Apparently a lot of surgeons just close you up and leave all of that C02 in your abdominal cavity. Consequently, I had NO gas pain at all - none. Also I did not have the hair loss others have had, even though I was mentally prepared for it. I wish you a good recovery and the best results.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
