Hey all,

I was sleeved in February and am now experiencing serious Hair loss. Is anyone else having this problem? I knew it was likely to occur but its still devastating to see. I am getting around 60 grams of Protein a day and taking my supplements as I should...

Sorry to hear. I am scared of this, too. My surgery is June 24th. I once saw on here about "Topping" Hair loss cover up. Check it out! It might help you hide it better until you get regrowth. They also have a brush for detangling without pulling or ripping hair out while wet. It is called the "wet hair" brush. Get it on Amazon or at Ulta. Hope this helps!

Yes! My doctor warned me it would happen around 3 months. Sure enough, it started right on cue! I'm am nearly 5 months out now and it has slowed down drastically. It was never enough to be noticeable, thankfully. Taking Biotin supplements helps to. Good luck!

I'm just past 5 weeks out and I've noticed that my hair and nails are growing much slower than usual. I started taking the Biotin too!

I was so hoping to be one of the lucky ones without Hair loss but It started about 3 mos. post op and has been falling out for a month now. The only thing saving me from complete embarrassment is that it is summer and the humidity gives my hair body and waves. Please be finished falling out by the end of summer!

Mine started about 3 months. I got my hair cut short and that helped. My doctor told me it would occur but that it would not be permanent. I'm 6 months out and it is much better. Biotin did not help me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
