My favorites are refried Beans with salsa and cheese, chicken salad, ricotta with marina, and cauliflower mock baked potato. I don't remember what my first soft/puree was...

Ricatta Bake! Like lasagna without the noodles. It made me feel like I was eating "real" food for the first time.

I'm on my phone, so I can't paste the link, but Google The World According to Eggface Ricatta Bake. She has some other ideas for the pureed stage that are pretty good, also.

Low sodium, fat free refried Beans with cheese and sour cream. Season the Beans with cumin, garlic and chili powder.

Can we have Greek yogurt with fruit in it? What do you put in your tuna and chicken salad?

You should ask your nutritionist, @@nrg33, but tuna and chicken salad was not in my pureed stage. That came later in the "soft foods" stage.

I did canned chicken breast with mayo, or even better Ranch dressing, and pureed a little until smooth. You can add a little broth if it seems too thick.

I have three favorites since starting pureed: grilled chicken and yellow pepper, lime, avacado, a little salsa and dab of Water (so it would actually puree!). pureed chicken, hummus & lots of lemon juice... last but not least low fat refried Beans mix in low fat sour cream and salsa (liquid part).. moist enough to get in, not too think

I didn't get to meat until soft foods and I'm still not sure if I'm allowed to have Beans yet. My first pureed food wasn't even pureed it was cottage cheese and it tasted so good! I also made a puree of roasted acorn squash with a little fat free half and half and the truvia brown sugar blend. That was also quite good.

Truly puréed was unsweetened applesauce. However I quickly transitioned myself to sugar free pudding and Wendy's chili!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
