A good hurt...

Recommended Posts

My butt it's aching something awful today! But I'll take it in stride because yesterday I rode my bike for the first time in about 2 years, and it wasn't nearly as difficult as I remember it was last time I rode it. We did about 4 miles too.

Best of all, I was able to keep a promise to my son that we'd ride together once I was healed from surgery.

@@dhrguru that's great ! I bet you both had a smile on your face during the bike ride. How about getting him to set goals along the way for you and that way he will be supportive and keep you on track.

Bike ride now:

1 month: a new outfit for you and a treat for him.

2 months: a hike

3 months: go swimming

4 months: and so on :D

How old is he?

Kate

I'm going to bring my bike out this week. My butt is going to hurt, we will be pain in the butt friends ;)

Tomorrow I'm going to buy some pants so that I can ride the bike in rain. No excuses! Need to exercise.

He loves planning stuff for us to do. He's 10. Actually, we're going swimming today. But hiking is a good one, thanks!!

I, too, took a nice bike ride yesterday. Filled up the tires and off I went????

My ass is also sore and my quads. But in a good way.... I needed it.

I've got to work on 5 lbs off this month... I have faith it will go. It is just slow since I am close to goal. I just relaxed and drank at my youngest sons wedding last week. Worth every bit!

This week is on spot!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
