ceejie 0 Posted June 7, 2015 Hello, I will be 3 weeks post op on Tuesday and am concerned that I am not progressing as well as I should be with regards to weight loss. The first two weeks I lost 8.8kg but in this last week I have only managed 1.1kg and the scales have not moved in 4 days, surely it's way too early to have stalled?? I really do not have an appetite and would rather drink Water or a Protein Shake than eat purees so I don't understand why I'm not losing. My starting weight was 135.4kg - BMI 47.9 so I have a LOT of weight to lose..... I know it is still really early but I can't help but think I am a failure and this was all for nothing ???? able2cope 193 Posted June 7, 2015 You will be on the 3 week stall - its quite common - its just your body adjusting.. the scale will move again soon - just keep sticking to the plan.
ceejie 0 Posted June 7, 2015 Oh wow, didn't know that the "3 week stall" was actually a thing, makes sense though, thank you so much ????
kimaly 57 Posted June 7, 2015 Slow and steady wins the race. Take it one day at a time. Good luck
liannatx 897 Posted June 7, 2015 Yes, the "3 week stall" is quite common. I didn't lose a bit for a week, I just stuck with the plan and the loss did resume. I proceeded into soft solids, which raised my calories some, and my loss started back.
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted June 7, 2015 The 3 week stall is real and happens to almost everyone. Definitely happened to me and lasted almost 3 weeks. The good news is, I really haven't stalled again after that.
