Seen the after pics and think "I'll never get there". I know I'm only a month out but I see the pics and just worry that I will never get to be skinny again. That I'll never get down to my goal weight or lose the flab on my arms thighs and stomach. am I alone in this?

I don't think you are alone at all. I think we all have hopes but we also remember the failed attempts that came before. We have to have some faith in the plan put before us and be patient. The weight did not come overnight nor will it go overnight. The surgery is a tool along with changed eating habits for life and exercise.

The after pics are great motivation but all our journeys are different and its all about what you put into it. The folks who share there success stories did not get there overnight and without effort also.

Good luck!

I had this conversation today with my boyfriend he made me look in the mirror and take a look at my body I noticed that I had lost weight. I was actually thinner than what I had imagined. I found this to be really encouragin My journey is going slow and I also have my doubts about gettin to my goal weight. I can only hope that if I follow my program it will come.

Stick to your plan and come to the discussions postings. I find they help me very much and you will not feel so alone because we all have been through doubts at one point or another. Keep your chin up.

I have felt this way from the very beginning. Hoping but never quite having faith that I could hit my goal. Then the other day I bought a pair of size 10 pants. When I lost weight years ago, I got down to size 8's. Getting into those 10's made me realize that I'm actually pretty close to hitting my goal. Shoot, when did that happen?

My suggestion is to put your head down and focus on 10lbs at a time. 6 months or so down the road, you'll look up and realize how close you really are to your goal. Stay focused and stay on this site, even when you feel like you're not learning anything new. It will keep you motivated.

Every one of us has the potential to get from 'Ton-derland' to 'One-derland'.

It only takes patience and relentless passion to follow the program.

The good news is that we have a physical restriction that is the best tool in our toolbox.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
