band to sleeve

I had the lap band in 2009. I weighed 230 lbs & from pre op to lowest weight I may have lost about 40 lbs but it seemed to be from pre & post op diet & life style changes & not the band. Like many people diets & disipline don't always last which is why I needed the additional tool of the lap band. They have never been able to get me in the green zone its either to full or not enough. Eventually it became harDer to maintain the discipline when I could eat whatever I wanted with no restriction. After 3 years of trying adjustments I gave up on them. I always wondered if it was because a PA was doing them instead of the Dr. SO here I am considering lap band to sleeve revision. Any advice, success stories, trouble getting insurance to approve? Did you have to go through all the same processes? Luckily I'm with a new company & have new insurance with United healthcare. P.S I'm now back to 228 lbs. Thanks for reading. Julie

I just had a apt yesterday with my surgeon and he wants me to have the revision. My lap band been giving me reflux really bad. So I might do it
