On 6/1 I had the lapband surgery. I continue to have middle back pain. Is this normal to experience this for this many days?

I have been walking. I believe it is gas! When I had my gallbladder removed the gas didn't last as long as this has. I will just keep on moving and one day at a time!

I'm not a back sleeper, but it's the only way I can get comfortable post surgery. That plus gas has lead to discomfort in my back also. Low setting for heating pad and gas-ex strips are helping with gas a lot.

Hi Jenn, 4 years out and I still get that mid back pain when my pouch is really full, like right now. So it can be that too.

I think that it may be the pouch being full too. When I eat (even a small bite of cottage cheese or ground meat) I feel this stabbing pain in the middle of my back for a bit until the food goes down. Things are very angry and swollen inside right now, according to my doc and nurse so any middle abdomen pain is normal.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
