Had RNY 7th May, 2 weeks post op I went to see surgeon due to a reddening of my incision (long incision open bypass) He said I had Fluid behind it and incisied it. Long story short, it had so much fluid behind it, I now have a negative pressure vaccuum pump attatched for up to 3 months. No infection, just my body over reacted. SkinnyDown 409 Posted June 5, 2015 I'm sorry to hear this. I know what a hassle this is from past surgeries. This is not a fun process to go through. Stay strong, and remember this too shall pass. I know that's hard right now, being in the middle of it. I developed an infection to one of my port sites during my stay at the hospital. I am still draining. dressing changes twice a day.
