It comes from inside them and its not your fault. They are maybe envious, scared your relationship with them will change, scared your personality will change, etc.

Just be yourself and if they don't want to Celebrate with you, we will!!

As Peach said, it comes from jealousy. I have a friend like that. Before the surgery, she was one of my biggest supporters. Now that I've had the surgery, she doesn't want to hear anything about it and is avoiding me. It sucks that some people act that way, but there's really nothing that you can do about it.

One of my sisters (who is also overweight ) had this conversation the other day. She mentioned early on thst she was worried she would be jealous thst she wouldn't lose like I was by doing it on her own. I told her I don't want this to come between us. But I've lost a significant amount of weight on my preop liquid diet and I can see her already getting uptight around me. She swears she will NEVER get this surgery...it's not for her.

Anyhow, I'm trying to just act the same and not talk about it with her.

A long time ago I lost a good amount of weight and my so call aka friend was the one telling me to do this and do that eat this and eat that and when I finally followed her advise and started making better choices and lost weight i lost her as friend...all the love and support I thought I had was all gone!!! The jealousy is real!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
