heygirlfriendBB 14 Posted June 8, 2015 Dr Kim performed my inverted gastric sleeve in 2011...100+ lbs GONE!!! Life is so much better now! No more high blood pressure and no more sleep apnea! YAY!! And I agree with Tiff.....we do have the most amazing aftercare support group page on Facebook. It is private and only for patients of Kim Bariatric Institute and many wonderful friendships have blossomed from our mutual desires to help each other be successful. He has an office in Colleyville and Frisco...so hopfully we will see you there soon!!
Maggietcu2 55 Posted June 8, 2015 My concern about Dr. Kim is the actual inverted gastric sleeve ... and the fact that his price is half of other clinics. I'm wondering what the long term affects are from rolling stomach muscle over the surgical staples? This procedure is already a last straw ... trying to minimize having to go back in ???? BrownEyedTxGirl 139 Posted June 8, 2015 Dr. Kim is half? Did you get a cost from his office? I was in a couple of weeks ago and his cash price was 5K more than the other two surgeons I met with.
woo woo 872 Posted June 8, 2015 Dr Kim has some issues, lawsuits etc. One patient lost his legs due to a mistake during surgery by another surgeon from Kim's office (substituted without patient's knowledge). I happen to believe that he has some marketing people on these boards occasionally posing as patients but I cannot prove that. I used Nicholson, my procedure and recovery was textbook no issues whatsoever. 9 months out currently. I also met with Roshack, he did my most recent follow up appointment and he seems great and very knowledgeable as well. Nicholson is an extremely skilled surgeon and also happens to be a very nice and friendly person.

Maggietcu2 55 Posted June 9, 2015 Aftercare at Nicholson Clinic ...
woo woo 872 Posted June 9, 2015 They have support groups as well as clothing swaps. I have not participated but I hear they are good and well attended. I know that they bring a psychologist to speak on different relevant topics each month, along with nutrition/exercise experts and info. I would have liked to have tried the swap! I'm not aware of any special events, but, I might not know about them since I haven't been going to meetings. There are many Nicholson Clinic patients on this board, maybe others will jump in as well.

imsoglad56 402 Posted June 9, 2015 My husband and I both used Dr. Jayaseelan at Dallas Bariatric Center. Loved, loved, loved him and his staff! We had wonderful experiences and still enjoy going in for follow up appointments.

skinnytiff 49 Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) Its very unfortunate what happened to him and sad that it goes against Dr Kim's name. The media always leaves out information to make others look bad. Dr Kim is a good doc and I have no regrets in choosing him. Just because patients reply to others asking about certain doctors doesn't make them marketers, it makes them excited to share about how that doctor has effected their lives. Dr Kim has some issues, lawsuits etc. One patient lost his legs due to a mistake during surgery by another surgeon from Kim's office (substituted without patient's knowledge).I happen to believe that he has some marketing people on these boards occasionally posing as patients but I cannot prove that.I used Nicholson, my procedure and recovery was textbook no issues whatsoever. 9 months out currently.I also met with Roshack, he did my most recent follow up appointment and he seems great and very knowledgeable as well.Nicholson is an extremely skilled surgeon and also happens to be a very nice and friendly person. skinnytiff 49 Posted June 14, 2015 My inverted sleeve surgery was with Dr Kim was 3 years ago and have not had any issues at all.
