I was sleeved on August 20th 2014, and I freeze so easy. It can be 75 degrees outside and if there is a breeze, I'm freezing. Had anyone else had this issue? Does your body regulate itself? How long does it take?

Im 7 weeks out and my hands and feet are always cold. Due to lower blood pressure which is directly affected from hydration, which we all experience no matter what, we will be cold the first months. . Than it will even it's self out

In the pre op diet and the first month post op I was cold much of the time. I would be bundled up in a blanket most evenings. After I started solid food the cold spells gradually went away.

We were told in the pre op classes that it's very common...I know I am always cold...I always have a sweatshirt handy. I am 11 weeks out and it hadn't gotten any better, but like you I am hoping it will.

It may be as simple as less fat=less insulation.

I had lap band surgery 4.5 years ago. I'm hoping to revise to the sleeve. But in the past I was always hot. Probably since I've lost weight, I won't even think about wearing shorts unless it's more than 75 out. I am cold a lot. I still am hot in the summer, but I'm definitely colder than I used to be

9 months post op. Freezing ALL the time. I believe this is my new life. An electric blanket on my bed, an electric throw on my chair a heater under my desk at work, all while my husband has the AC on. Lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
