Rebeccaabrooks86 269 Posted June 4, 2015 Hi Everyone! I was banded in 8/14...lost 35 lbs and gained 20 back. I am on a medication for depression which I struggle with that causes excessive weight gain which has been hindering my progress with the band. I currently weigh 230 lbs. My goal is to get under 200 while being on my medication. Am ready to get back on track and log daily on My Fitness Pal and exercise 3-4 times weekly. Bandista 7,466 Posted June 4, 2015 Hi Rebecca, congratulations on all! I'm not on MFP right now but have been in the past. Just wanted to give a shout-out. You're in good company. Medication can be such a drag but your body will get the right idea. I have exercised for years (arthritis) but I think I was just under what I needed for my body to get the response going. I was sure I'd never have an endorphin high, that I just wasn't wired that way. Well I can and do now but I have to go four miles (I'm a walker); three wasn't hacking it. And I still have to make myself do it even though it feels good after. One thing that helps me is putting my arms up over my head in that crossing the finish line pose -- yippee! I watched a Ted Talk about how that creates positive messaging. So pat yourself on the back, tell yourself you're great (you are!) and put those arms up in the air. Then go exercise! I too am taking medication for depresion/anxiety and it has not been my only reason for unsuccess, but I too am getting back on the bandwagon. I am excited to put myself and my health back in the forefront of my mind. I just started with MFP, and I will be working out at least 3 times per week. Tiny1234 121 Posted April 12, 2016 Ditto, ditto, ditto...same issues. Meds for anxiety, arthritis, lost 40 lbs, put 30 back on. Soooo need to get back on track. Death in family 2 years ago did a real number on me. I'm ready to get back to looking after myself. Spring is here, sun is shining,. I haven't checked into this website for a couple of years.
