Alyssa0102 24 Posted June 3, 2015 I know it's probably okay, but I have been drinking Decaf coffee with a splash of chocolate milk lately. They told me coffee was a no after surgery but I don't understand why decaf is terrible? Someone elaborate for me, pleaaaaase?
recordsmom 52 Posted June 3, 2015 I don't know why Decaf wouldn't be okay. Actually my NUTand surgeon both said regular coffee is okay as long as I can tolerate it.
GAWildKat 82 Posted June 3, 2015 I asked the doc about the coffee, its the caffeine some people dehydrate too much to be safe drinking it, Decaf is acceptable.
OregonTeacher 63 Posted June 3, 2015 My NUT told me Decaf is just fine. I have had no problems with it. I am 6 weeks post-op and have been drinking it for several weeks now.
aelovelady 243 Posted June 4, 2015 I was never told to stay away from coffee. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories per cup). I haven even discussed this with my surgeon and he said it was fine!
wahtx 15 Posted June 4, 2015 Funny, the hospital brought me Decaf coffee for "breakfast" on day 2. I didn't drink it but have since I've been home. I am on day #6.

wahtx 15 Posted June 4, 2015 What about a little non dairy Creamer in the Decaf? I'm 7 days post op and still waiting for the signs of hunger before I eat anything. I'm thinking no but wondering.
Alyssa0102 24 Posted June 4, 2015 Thanks, all! I love Decaf coffee with a splash of chocolate Fairlife milk!
aelovelady 243 Posted June 4, 2015 Just be careful with liquid calories. They won't fill you up, so it's really just a waste. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories per cup) and I use about 1/2 cup for a 16 oz cup of coffee. Good luck!
wahtx 15 Posted June 4, 2015 I was thinking more the powdered creamer over the liquid.
catek 3 Posted June 4, 2015 I'm very new and wondering why Decaf?
