I am almost ready for my July 13th surgery! Got the okay from dietician this morning. Next week I go over psych evaluation and off to insurance for approval!!

And I lost 7 lbs in the last month! The biggest change so far is I am so conscious of everything I put in my mouth- and am listening to my body about being hungry or just habit. I have been studying the meal plans for before and after to remind myself how life is going to change.

Now I still think about the food and decide to eat those chips and quac anyway but hey at least I'm thinking about!

This board helps so much! Thank all y'all (tx gal) for sharing your journey.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
