shancanssleevejourney 74 Posted July 7, 2015 Hi Everyone! I was also sleeved on June 8th. How is your journey going so far?
natalie080 7 Posted July 7, 2015 Hi Shannon, Mine is going great. I've been able to eat most things easily, I'm just very careful and chew really well. My energy is coming back. My weightloss is good, it could be better though... I need to really start hitting the gym now that I'm a month out. All in all I'm happy with the process. I do get sick of becoming hungry two hours after I've eaten, but I'm learning that's just the way it is. How are you doing? Natalie
shancanssleevejourney 74 Posted July 7, 2015 Hi Natalie, I'm doing really well also. I too m getting to the point where I know I need to hit the gym but not trying to be a superhero. I'm still struggling with fatigue hoping it will go away soon. I keep having to remind myself that because of my age I'm not going to bounce back as quickly as some of the youngins lol. I am still struggling with getting all my Protein Shakes in. So I just ordered a new nectar brand that is only 4 to 6 ounces with 30 grams. I think that's going to help a lot as I really hate the shakes I'm using now. I have been extremely careful I've not eating too fast and chewing my food really really well so have had no issues up until last night I made some tuna and cut up dill pickle slices really tiny like the size of relish. About 10 minutes after eating I felt really nauseous. Not to the point of throwing up but just not feeling good. I also had instant diarrhea but it didn't continue just one time. Sorry for the TMI not sure how else to put that lol. I don't know now whether it was the food or if maybe I ate it too fast. I'm guessing it was a mild mild case of dumping? Really not sure

Really not sureI'm doing great as well. No issues and my strength is mostly returned. I found that if I just went out and did normal activities it would bring my energy back. I too am looking to get back in the gym but for now working and walking. Food is going great found several things I can enjoy. My go to Protein Shake is,the Atkins indulgence. Low carbs and 15g of Protein.
shancanssleevejourney 74 Posted July 7, 2015 I would strongly advise you to check with your nutritionist on the type of Protein Shakes you should be having. It's my understanding that Atkins is not sufficient enough for our needs. Also to get the 90-120 grams a day as needed that's a lot of shakes

Heather Birdwell 57 Posted July 8, 2015 Hey everyone. I had surgery on June 5 in Dallas Tx. I hope everyone is doing well. I have a quick question. I am finding it difficult to get in my 60 grams of Protein without a shake. I feel like I am eating all day. Then there are times where I am not sure if it's head hunger or real hunger. I feel stupid even typing this. This is such a weird phenomenon.

I can feel myself being able to eat more but I stick to three meals and try to get close on protein. Just follow your rules and keep it healthy! Glad you posted this. Heather Birdwell 57 Posted July 8, 2015 I am still losing weight. My doc says he wants me eating small Snacks every two hours. And the hours in between doing my liquids. I feel like all I do it eat, but I guess when you do it in 1 ounce settings it really doesn't add up to much.

natalie080 7 Posted July 8, 2015 Whoops, I messed that up. Lol. Anyhow, I pretty much always have a Protein Shake in the morning every day. Otherwise I have a hard time hitting my goal. I aim for 80 grams!
Kfohiotime4change 59 Posted July 9, 2015 Gas pains are no jokes! I felt them at home! I thought two Olympic teams the USA and China were playing for the gold. I, too, hate Protein Shakes. I think "Premier Protein" is the shake for me. The big issue is getting the fluids down ALL 64 oz in a day! I had my sleeve on the 22nd of June. I'm a fan of Premier Protein as well...160 cals and 30g of Protein? Can't beat that and the taste good!
Kfohiotime4change 59 Posted July 9, 2015 Hi Everyone! I was also sleeved on June 8th. How is your journey going so far? Sleeved on June 8 as well...lost about 20 lbs from surgery date but struggling to get enough Protein and H2O. Energy is not a problem but I can only eat like 1/4 of what I think I can eat at any meal! I know it's a long journey but I feel a little down and am trying to stay the course. No pain or post surgical problems for me thankful for that. Trying to relearn eating is a hurdle! Started going to the gym and treadmill is a lifesaver! Hope everyone is well and please, let's hang in there together! Hey everyone. I had surgery on June 5 in Dallas Tx. I hope everyone is doing well. I have a quick question. No way I can get protein in without at least one shake!
shancanssleevejourney 74 Posted July 9, 2015 I completely understand having a hard time getting your Protein and h2o in. I too AM struggling with that. I'm only hungry a couple of times a day so in finding it very hard to fight the head hunger. It's also difficult changing your head to only want good food that's good for you. I am doing very well with staying strictly Proteins and veggie so quite often what my options are to eat don't sound good so I don't eat. Hopefully soon I will get into a rhythm and find better recipes that I like so I'm not just getting by. Hope that makes sense lol
