I'm so frustrated.... In the middle of the dreaded three week stall. Cash paying for the sleeve, two bites of an egg and I'm stuffed (which is fine by me) supplementing with my Protein Drinks. Walking at least a mile a day and I gain four pounds. I feel like I have failed at weight loss surgery and I am destined to be a fat girl

We have all been frustrated by the stall but hang in there...the weight loss will start again. The body is going through a major change and it needs time to regroup. I know it is frustrating to not lose and to even gain but the weight will come off if you stick to your plan and exercise. At times you will see no change on the scale but will see a change in your clothes. Try not to be too compulsive with the scale (should follow my own advice lol) and keep going. I have stalled once so far and it lasted a week. Then suddenly it started again.

As you can see from posts here, we all experience it and everyone says it passes so relax and go for it!! Good luck!

Thank you

I have just failed at every other type of weight loss so it makes me feel like this isn't going to help me either

Just have to keep telling myself stay away from the scale

Everyone goes through this phase. You have not failed. Stick to your nutrition plan, walk walk walk, sip sip sip, and the scale will start moving in the right direction again. I promise!

Congratulations! You have reached The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or even longer. But don't worry – after that, the pounds will start falling off if you stick to your program. And, the inches will continue to come off even while the scale isn't budging. Here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again!

(Apologies to BP regulars who have seen this repeatedly, but it's a big deal to those who are going through it!)

Tomorrow is 3 weeks for me and the scale stopped moving. It makes me not want to eat the little bit that I have been.

As counter-intuitive as it is, eating less will make you stall longer. The reason you stall out in week 3 is that your body is freaking out about all the changes. Eating too little just prolongs the freak-out and sends you into full-on self preservation mode. Trust and believe that getting in all of your Protein and sticking to the plan WILL make the scale move in the right direction again.

I broke my stall by eating more calories and carbs abs cutting back on my work out time. I was working out too much and hardly eating any calories do make sure you're not doing that too.

You have to eat enough to be able to really work out.

I am relieved to see this thread because I too have hit the "stall". I weighed one pound less on my three week post surgery day. It totally bums me out but luckily I am confident and patient! I just pray it doesn't last too long!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
