Recommended Posts

3 days ago I was 300.8. I was so excited but I've been battling getting under 300 for about a week now. Yesterday I stepped on the scale n weighed 302. I didn't panic till I got on the scale today n was back up to 303.

I'm pissy now!!

WTF......

I am trying my hardest to get under 300 but I'm not having any luck.

Please.... I'm open to suggestions...

Help!!!!!!

It's just a number. Yes...I understand it's an important number, but it's still just a number. Just do what you've been doing and stay off the scale for a while. Then when you do get on it, you should be under that 300 lb. mark by a nice amount.

That cruel scale danced around the 200lb mark for me for almost 2 weeks. But it finally dropped below and stayed there. Hang in there, it'll happen.

Try upping your calories & exercise. It worked for me when I was in a stall. Then I lowered my calories back a few days later.

Thanks everyone!

I appreciate the support!

I will take everyone's advice and have my daughter hide the scale again..

I know how you feel struggling to get out of the 300s myself. I'm down to 308, so if I don't stall, again, I should be under 3 by next week or so. Hang in there.

The scale can be really rude sometimes... Sometimes you can be carrying a little extra Fluid especially women, so try not to fret about it, keep doing the right thing and it will get back on track...

I have a love-hate affair with my scale. I am a daily weigher. I just am, and I feel it contributes to my success. Other people can do without it, and it's a personal choice. I just wanted to say that I feel your pain, and it's normal. Soon this will be a distant memory. To this day, I will still flip off and curse at the inanimate object, lol. So, yell at the thing, move on, and keep doing what you know you need to do.

I think you might have a lot of salt in your diet and lots of salt causes Water retention if so minimise your salt intake as much as you can and you may see about a 6 to 7 lb difference.

I agree about the salt. If I add salt to anything, it will be on my eggs at Breakfast. Later in the day, salt will tip the scale for me the next morning, too. To resist salt at lunch and dinner, I just add extra pepper or other herbs and spices.

Yeah I like to use Mrs. Dash instead of salt. At first I was a salt fanatic, so it took a little getting use to, but now I don't even think about it anymore.

@@meSparkle83 - you are a scale junkie! So am I.

I cannot get it to move under 240. I sooooo badly wanted to be there at the first f/u visit post surgery but NNnnnnooooooooOOOOoo, still 241.

I am going to watch my salt intake drink more and maybe bump the calories up a smidgen to see if my stall may break.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
