I am hopefully going to be approved for the lap band soon. I meet the NHI requirements, plus I have some of the co-morborbidities. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't consider co-morborbidities, they go strictly by weight. According to them, I need to be 270 pounds (5'4) and right now I'm 225. But, I have newly diagnosed high blood pressure, asthma, sleep apnea, orthopedic issues, but they won't consider them. However, my HR director informed me that they are going to be revising their guidelines for the lap band (which were equalled to gastric bypass)..dumb! Right now, I'm trying (AGAIN) weight watchers and I've just started Alli.

I am too young (43) to have this much trouble. I also have a 2 year old granddaughter plus a beautiful 14 year old daughter and I want to be able to play with the grandbaby without problems.I also want my daughters (21, 14) to be proud of me:o

Hello, vterry, I'm sorry you are encountering roadblocks. I hope the criteria change soon.

I'm assuming that is one of your daughters. She is beautiful. (She looks like you!!)

All the best with your journey. Keep us posted.
