STUCK! Super Stall! Really getting annoying

Recommended Posts

Ok folks I will preface this with saying that I am doing extremely well and I should not be stressing about this. I know that, and I keep telling myself that and I keep doing it anyway.

I'm almost a year out. My sleeve was July 23rd, 2014. I'm down 82lbs and am wearing clothes that are less than half the size I was before. I'm feeling great physically, working out 4 times or more a week. Everything is really really good. So why am I so annoyed that I've been stuck at the same weight for a month? I'm sure I'm losing inches, the way my clothes fit is showing that, but that scale will not budge and it is pissing me off.

Am I not eating enough for the amount of exercise? Am I not getting enough Protein? I know my carbs are low, I track everything on MyFitnessPal and I always stay well under the allowable carbs and sugar grams. Do I need to eat more? That just sounds absurd!

OK so anyone who has been stuck this close to goal....please point me in the right direction. What can I do to get that scale moving again?

Just an FYI, I've added some carbs to my diet and it's making a difference in my weight loss. I lost almost 7 pounds last month, which is UNHEARD of for me, lol. I'm probably getting about 80 grams of carbs right now, which is the equal amount to my protien. Of course it's all whole grains, and nothing white. I also run 2-3 miles every other day, so I burn a lot of calories. So try adding some carbs in the form of whole grains to your diet and see how it goes!

Couple of reminders...

1) muscle weights more than FAT. If you are working out - maybe you are building your muscles and this is part of the stall.

2) remember the basics - Water, Protein, etc.

3) have you talked to you MD or NUT? Mine recommends that since I am working out more, I need to up my Protein more. So maybe this is needed?

I am sure you are doing GREAT and will past this hurdle!!! Hang in there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
