ab123. 90 Posted June 2, 2015 Basically don't have any follow up with my team after 3 weeks and I'm 6 weeks out. Wondering - when could you eat crunchy salad and vegatables?
Glute1 18 Posted June 2, 2015 I wasn't allowed to introduce them till about 6 weeks out. I did nibble on little pieces of lettuce at about 4 weeks though

jane13 2,256 Posted June 2, 2015 I wasn't specifically told to not eat them right now but when I have had them I have chewed the salad to mush before I swallowed. I also had FF dressing & no croutons. Only ate maybe 5-6 small bites.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted June 2, 2015 I asked my NP the same thing about 6 weeks out and she asked me what I missed about salad. I told her that I loved all the yummy toppings and she told me to go to a salad bar and get just that. It was the onions and red pepper and radishes and carrots and YUM! Lettuce is just filler.I have a stricture so I couldn't do this for about three months, but it cured exactly I craved.
AlanaRN 419 Posted June 2, 2015 3 months out per my plan. I did try lettuce right about 3 months and didn't have an issue. Didn't try crunchy vegetables until recently and I'm 8 months out.
judyoz 240 Posted June 2, 2015 I was cleared at 5 weeks for anything I wanted and could tolerate. Have not had lettuce but had several raw veggies and they went well. I don't have many since I still get full with my Protein.
Tony Tone Vega 1 Posted June 2, 2015 I was allowed to eat solid foods three weeks after the surgery. When I saw my surgeon, I told him that I was going crazy eating soft food. That's when he told me, that I could eat solid food since I was doing excellent.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted June 2, 2015 My team's super-conservative plan doesn't allow salad or other crunchy vegetables until 6 months after surgery.
