flipper72 36 Posted June 1, 2015 I have met with the nutritionist, the psychologist and the doctor and I have an appointment with the surgeon this Friday. I know that my insurance requires a certification authorization that takes 2-3 business days. Does anyone have any idea what the meeting with the surgeon entails? Does this mean I'll get scheduled for surgery? Or are there many more steps after this? thanks!

tracynicole5181 14 Posted June 2, 2015 He maybe going over the surgery having you ask questions. Have you done any clearances yet like cardiologist or pulmonary? He maybe checking that stuff. Good luck with the appointment.
flipper72 36 Posted June 2, 2015 No I haven't done any clearance tests like that. I have 2 ultrasounds on the 19th...that's all so far. How long is it usually between the first meeting with the surgeon and the actual surgery....any idea?
The Candidate 3,215 Posted June 2, 2015 The waiting is definitely the hardest. I had to attend two pre program seminars, complete paperwork/labs to be accepted into the program, 6 months of classes (finished 05/14), attend a surgeon seminar, a fitness test, pre op labs, and I even went to a support group on my own. Now I'm just waiting for the almighty insurance approval. After that it's the surgical consult, psych evaluation, and internist, which is a 3-in-1 day appt. Then surgery! This waiting period for this final approval has been by far the absolute hardest of all.
