NCTRNL 25 Posted June 1, 2015 I go in tomorrow for my sleeve and I assume that tomorrow evening, I'll be up and sitting and everything so my wife and I decided that we'd play it by ear but we're assuming it will be ok for my 3 year old daughter to come visit me since I'll be gone for a night. We've already told her that daddy is going to the doctor to get healthy and I'd be gone for a night. I'd definitely like to see her but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with an actual hospital visit.
judyoz 240 Posted June 1, 2015 It is up to you, but if it is only one night, get your rest and see her the next day. I slept most of the day of surgery. She will get bored at the hospital and have more fun at home. If you end up staying longer than maybe have her visit.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted June 1, 2015 Check the hospital's policy, too. Mine only allowed small children to visit on the weekend. Since I was sleeved on Monday and left on Tuesday children would not have been allowed.

It is at the bariatric surgery center and they have private rooms and there are no rules against it.
KalelsWifey 318 Posted June 1, 2015 I was in for only a night and tbh I was so groggy and drained the I slept thru 95% of my husbands 4 hour visit that I woke, said please go home, I'm actually feeling guilty that I'm sleeping while your just sitting here... He said it didn't bother him just to make sure I was fine. I was thankful my MIL was with my girls. They did come to pick me up the next day though with balloons, flowers and cards they made which was awesome. I would play it by ear on how your feeling. Good luck! numom2e 5 Posted June 1, 2015 My daughter was 3 as well and I have a 12 yr old. The first night I didn't get into a room until 830-9, so that night we face timed. The second night they both came up to visit. It was my worst day as far as post op. I couldn't sleep and was moody. Seeing them reminded me why I went through everything. I'm glad they were there but it is a hospital and not much to do so they got bored quickly. I think a short visit is great:)
