OMG! what was I thinking? I am totally beating myself up right now! The hubs asked for eggs, bacon and pancakes for Breakfast. So, I made it for him. I had a yogurt about 3 hours before, and was a little hungry. He left a pancake.....a small one......and I ate it. I planned to just "taste" it. But...I ATE IT!! I have not had any simple carbs in about 6 weeks (maybe more). I don't plan to make this a habit, but I have to admit, it went down way too easy, and now I know it's not a good thing for me. Maybe this will break my stall.

Pssstttt....stop beating yourself up. You are human. No one told you to eat zero carbs for the rest of your life. I thought the same thing at first, then I hit a stall. One day I "fell off the wagon" and kept eating all day mostly Protein and some carbs. When I got on the scale the next morning, my weight dropped two pounds. Then I remembered that we can be guilty of not eating enough and not eating small amounts about six times a day (every 2-3 hours). So each day after that, I made sure that I got in all my Proteins, all my fluids, a few carbs, and ate six times a day. The scale started moving again.

Based on your ticker, YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!! Don't let head games stress you out. You are on your way!

You bad, bad girl, lol. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something like that every once in awhile. Think about it...before you would have eaten several pancakes and the bacon and the eggs right? Now, not only did you stop at a small pancake but you recognized it wasn't good for you and you don't have a great need to eat anymore of it. About 2 weeks ago I had a cake pop from Starbucks for the first time in a few months, and I enjoyed it. Unlike before though, I only had one and I've had no real interest in having another one. The sleeve lets us eat in moderation and isn't designed so that we totally stop enjoying things that may not be good for us. A few bites of pancake, a piece of cake, a few adult beverages, some taco dip...all are things you should still enjoy every once in awhile. Life is for living, not for eating spinach and chicken at every meal. :)

I eat a pancake every weekend. With REAL butter, REAL maple Syrup and a sausage patty or bacon. No regrets and no guilt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
