Hello! I just ordered this thing and was wondering if anyone else uses it too? post-119529-14330709170188_thumb.jpg

Not me. My nut told me to use a small salad plate or saucer.

Where did you order that plate? We're looking to offer something to our members that would be universally useful to all WLS patients.

I bought a very cute Peter Rabbit kiddie plate. Not quite as toddlerish as some of the choices out there.

Mine is a Disney plate with three compartments... two very small with one a bit larger. ????

Alex if you go to ebay and google things like...divided toddler plate..and other similar things you will find lots of ideas from cheap plastic to melamine to Stangle pottery. Starting there I bet you could find a manufacturer you could buy in bulk from and even have plates customized for Bariatric Pal.

Maybe sippy cups too.LOL

That's cool!!! When I was first post op and till about 9 months out, though, there's no way I could eat enough to fill all those compartments! My "plate" was typically a 1/2 C sized bowl (like a ramekin) that I filled either halfway or all the way. Might use one now though!

It's funny but his thread made me realize how many meals I eat out of a Cereal bowl now instead of a big plate. I guess I just naturally downsized without thinking about it.

Uh oh! The Mickey Mouse fanatic in me was just enticed! I had looked at some regular ones like the first in this thread but hadn't thought of Disney!! You're getting me in trouble! ????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
