MyNewLife28 9 Posted May 31, 2015 Having issues with wanting to eat more than the sleeve will allow. Anyone else experience this? If you did, what did you do to help you get through it?
wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted May 31, 2015 yep! I was hungry all the time at first. When I moved to the soft food stage is when I felt the restriction. Now I am lucky if I can get down 1 oz of anything at meal time. eggs, chicken salad, cottage cheese, refried Beans, stuff like that. I have added an additional Protein shake so I can meet my Protein requirements.
00612 12 Posted May 31, 2015 Thank God! I'm 4 days post & feel as though I'm always starving... To the point of tears. My husband is almost no help, and teases me regularly. I thought he'd be more hands on since he took 3 weeks off for my surgery. I'm just praying to God to help me to stay on the right path. I feel weak and vulnerable at this point. MyNewLife28 9 Posted May 31, 2015 I get full but my head says keep eating... Like I just can't get enough! I sure will be glad when I'm off restrictions but this is just depressive! I feel like I can't get enough food to feel better and I know that was my problem that hot me in trouble in the first place!
jenpow 5 Posted May 31, 2015 I'm three weeks post op. It's been amazing to me how much hunger is in my head!!! Even when I'm completely full, my head is saying just take one more bite... try to distract yourself, get up, move around, find something to do. When your head is focused on something else you'll forget about it BC you really aren't hungry. Hardest thing for me has been grocery shopping!!! Although I am on a hugely restricted diet, I still have a family that has to eat! Either I want to buy everything, (BC it's in my head) or I want to buy nothing. It's def a struggle but it's getting better every day. Good luck!!

momfromjersey22 403 Posted June 2, 2015 Does anyone know why we can't eat pork roll or hot dogs?
KayStar728 0 Posted June 2, 2015 Hello, I am new to this forum. I am 3 weeks post op. I feel hungry all the time as well. I heard that your mind hasn't caught up to your new stomach and it can be confused with head hunger. I have also heard that your body is still producing the same amount of acid for your little stomach, so to up your pepcid or prilosec. I am currently taking 3 anti acids and that has helped me a lot. I haven't lost any weight in 2 weeks. I started walking 5 times a week and burn on average 450-500 calories. I am so frustrated and can't understand how the scale has not moved. Has this happened to anyone?
