Kysunshine1958 0 Posted May 29, 2015 Hello Miss Pam, Yes, Dr. Nwanguma did my surgery in February, 2015! He and his staff are absolutely wonderful!!! Dr. Nwanguma is a very skilled surgeon and he will not perform surgery until every item on your checklist has been done. Teresa Stidham is his nurse practitioner and she is very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a support group which meets monthly at the Medical Center/WKU Campus. The next meeting is on Thursday, June 18th at 5:00 p.m.

MissPam 20 Posted May 30, 2015 I don't know when I'll be having surgery yet. I go to my first appointment with Dr. Nwanguma on Monday. I'm very excited and look forward to this journey. Glad to hear Kysunshine had a good experience with Dr. Nwanguma
perk4756 259 Posted May 30, 2015 Misspam they should at least tell you what month you will be having your surgery then and your checklist of tests you need to complete depending on your co morbities and health issues
MissPam 20 Posted May 30, 2015 They told me to expect for my first appointment to last at least 2 hours. I was told I would meet with the dietician and the surgeon. Since I'll be a self pay patient (I sure wish my insurance covered the surgery), I hope I don't have to wait too long for surgery. I guess I'll know a lot more on Monday. MissPam 20 Posted November 15, 2015 Dr. Nwanguma is great! I had the sleeve done in June and haven't had any complications. I had to pay $15,600 for the surgery, but ended up having to have a hernia repair which my insurance paid for. I also had to take out a temporary insurance policy through the dr office that would cover any complications after surgery that cost $1,300. I highly recommend Dr. Nwanguma and his staff. I have had a great experience so far.
kim36517 3 Posted November 15, 2015 Thank you MissPam for the information. It is so hard to pick the best surgeon and I live in Glasgow so Bowling Green is super convenient for me. I am going to the Decemer seminar so I am really excited. Should have the funds to pay for surgery by February.
jrb788 2 Posted April 3, 2016 I had a few people recommend him to me. When you had your surgery done how long did you have to stay at the hospital there and which surgery did you have? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
