hellohealthy 32 Posted May 29, 2015 I work in an office too and I took 3 weeks. The first week I was sore, exhausted and overall useless!
recordsmom 52 Posted May 29, 2015 I was out two weeks. I work in an office, no heavy lifting, etc... I was able to be at my desk and get some work done, but I was really tired and lethargic. I think 3 weeks off would have been better.
leana123@live.com 12 Posted May 29, 2015 I didn't realize time off from work would be so long.
tracynicole5181 14 Posted May 29, 2015 I have two weeks scheduled right now. I also work in an office with not heavy lifting. I was told my one of the advocates at my clinic that some go back after a week if they aren't in pain and are doing well. I guess it is all up to the person. slvarltx 332 Posted May 30, 2015 I had my surgery on 5/8 and can share my experience: Week 1, tired , sore, and the attention span of a 3 year old, less sore by the end of the week, took it off Week 2, tired and the attention span of a 7 year old, home office Week 3, less tired, starting to be more energetic, attention span coming back, air travel, hotel overnights You really need 1 week off at a minimum. Week 2 is iffy, because you are likely to make mistakes, feel terrible by the end of the day because you need to lay down. Week 3, I was good to go, but still probably functioning at 70%. I did get on a plane and had meetings, stayed in hotel etc. Hopefully week 4 continues to be easier/better! Losing 7 lbs per week post surgery!
Amylou 206 Posted June 1, 2015 I'm currently scheduled to be off work entirely week 1, working from home week 2, 2/3 days at work week three. My surgeon and nurse highly recommended taking two weeks off for recovery minimum - mostly because the calorie intake post surgery is so low you have a hard time functioning.
