Djmohr 6,965 Posted May 28, 2015 oatmeal was on my list of approved foods at the puréed stage. I added Protein to it. I don't eat it regularly only because I get tired of the same things. I do like a light yogurt with Protein granola in it. You can find some good granolas out there that taste great and have low sugar and over 10 grams of protein. Unfortunately I cannot do eggs so I find other things.
Babbs 14,681 Posted May 28, 2015 Now that I'm close to goal, I have started eating a few more carbs, including oatmeal for Breakfast once in a while. I'm having fun with some overnight oats recipes!
KateP 359 Posted May 29, 2015 Not everyone counts carbs. I don't. I have had oatmeal ever since it was allowed post-op. But I never have the instant varieties. Partly because I don't like them but also because they wouldn't make me feel full. I use large, usually stone-ground oats.
AussieSam 234 Posted May 29, 2015 Oatmeal is good but small portion with skim milk does the job.

After GB I tend to get a little extra excited when I find something that has added protein!! Lol.
VDB 800 Posted May 29, 2015 I am allowed oatmeal (6 weeks out). I use regular (non-instant) oats and soak them overnight. I then cook them very mushy, with more Water, and let them sit for an hour or two on a warmer burner. Then, I put in a scoop of Protein powder and one envelope of Splenda, mix it good and then use a bit of skim milk. I can have 3/4 cup (slightly larger pouch due to size). SeahawksFan 444 Posted May 29, 2015 I have oatmeal probably every other day. I usually have the instant kind because of time and I add some unflavored Protein to it. I 've found that oatmeal helps keep me regular. I don't count carbs or calories. My nutritionist is totally fine with it. ~LA
