The pain in my right abdominal is pretty bad. I left the hospital last night. Technically this is just day two out of surgery. Walking and standing hurt the most. Were you guys in as much pain a few days ago? My surgery was on Thursday.

How high did your fever get? I run a low one every evening or night. I've been pushing more fluids at that time in case it's dehydration.

I've had one every day between 99.3 and 100.5... Dr. Said it was just my body fighting off infection. Nothing to worry about, my hydration and staple line looked good.

I've been trying to get Protein Shake down but I feel so full, not so much stomach but like after you have thanksgiving dinner and are ready for a nap. I get about 2oz down. Anyone start on shakes yet?

My Dr. Put me on shakes right away, I do them 3oz every 2 hours, and try to get in 5 to 8oz clear on the off hour. It's rough, but I'm getting better every day.

I know I can push more but just scared to stretch out stomach or over due it and not heal. I'll keep pushing a little more each time. Thanks

I didn't get shakes in until day 5. It's a struggle. I overdid it yesterday and have felt gassy and bloated all night. Backing off tomorrow and taking it slower. Sleeve is teaching me what to do and not do!

How's everyone doing with soft Proteins? Share your favorite recipe or food. Im already getting board of limited options but I'm getting my 60 g of Protein. Try Sf jam, I add it to Greek yogurt and it's so yummy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
