ab123. 90 Posted May 28, 2015 I'm 5 weeks out. No problems with food but fluids nauseate me. 32 ounces a day is my max. Also about 50 grams of Protein. I have multiple food allergies which make so hard. Highly allergic to soy, wheat, sea salt so almost all Protein Shakes and Protein Bars are out. This is very difficult because salad was what I ate prior to surgery with fat free cheese which only has 2 grams of protein per slice. I guess I probably only got 10 grams of protein per day prior to surgery my whole life since I ate mostly vegatables and it is very annoying eating all things I don't like now to force eat protein!! maggie409 765 Posted May 28, 2015 Not sure if it will help, but here is a good article that I read today on Proteins. If your NUT is useless then maybe it's time to educate yourself. http://blog.myfitnesspal.com/a-beginners-guide-to-protein/?native_client=1 Also, I went to GNC and explained my issues and they pointed me in the direction of the right kinds of Protein. Good luck!!
ShellMilliner 233 Posted May 28, 2015 I found flavored waters to go down MUCH easier...tea, lemonade and fruit or cucumber infused Water. It always went down and sat better. For me the colder the better, although some people prefer warmer. For Protein you can't beat seafood. It is very high in Protein and low in fat. Make your own Protein drinks using almond milk or the FairLife Skim milk (13 g/cup) and it counts as liquid. Add peanut or almond butter and either unsweetened cocoa with some honey, stevia or splenda (or sugar free chocolate syrup).
