Bonawanabfree 280 Posted June 2, 2015 @ I was plagued with this same notion until I started eating normal food again. Sometimes I forget that I cant eat What I used to eat and then I regret it very quickly. You will see what i am talking about soon enough and then run to the bathroom. AnA92212 577 Posted June 3, 2015 I totally felt this way too. It totally changes when you move to real food. I still feel like I could just go and eat anything...this is not the case. I get so hungry, then I sit down to eat, and can only eat 5 bites of food. My co workers just stare in amazement at how little I eat.
Dr-Patient 830 Posted June 3, 2015 Wow. I'm surprised to see so many of you being able to get in so much--Clear liquids or otherwise--so early in the process. I could barely get in my water/clear liquids; that went on for a few months...for which I'm grateful. My very first post to this site in 2013 was 3 weeks after my VSG and my issue was I couldn't drink Water to anywhere approximate requested amounts. I'd say just don't push it. Trust me; the time will later come when you will want your stomach to fill easily. i.e., it does get easier to take in more food as time progresses. We still have to be mindful of amounts of food, and eat slowly; be sure to listen to your stomach 'saying' it's full.

I have a water bottle in front of me that's 3/4 full because I just can't get it all down. =(
Kfohiotime4change 59 Posted June 12, 2015 Great information here! I'm five days out and wondering how I can drink all this Water and Protein Shakes and Jello and Soup and it all fits. I've a ways to go before puréed solids so I guess my fear is a little hasty! ????
zonetracy 53 Posted June 17, 2015 7 days post op for me and another 7 days of liquids before I can move to soft foods. I am so ready for them now. I always feel hungry and hope that hunger goes away with the soft foods. I'm glad this topic was started... makes me feel a little more normal
Jadepony 0 Posted June 18, 2015 This topic is why I came to the site today. I even called the doctor to ask how much I should be able to hold at a time and they couldn't give me an answer. I was afraid that since I could drink a full cup of warm broth with no problems that I had stretched or somehow messed up my sleeve.. Good luck to all of us! )
ready4achange48 8 Posted June 18, 2015 Reading this makes me feel so much better. I was listening to some of the stories in class today and started feeling like an outsider. Thanks for sharing your stories.
