When you say "170", are you talking pounds or kilograms?

I started at a much higher weight than you (237) but I had an almost 2 months stall at around the 165-170 mark. I'm 1 year and 8 months out from surgery and I only lost something like 33 pounds in the last year, 7 of which took 6 months. The sleeve isn't magic...it still takes time and consistency and a lot of effort to drop weight. At one point I was working out twice a day for almost 4 hours a day and the scale would barely move. Maybe consider increasing your exercise if you are able...that was the only thing that got me out of my big stall.

You cannot compare your loss rates to someone with much more to lose, i.e. many people on this site.

I think you are doing well and making progress.

How do you feel?

P.s. I have been bouncing within 2 pounds of 157 since march.

Go to Youtube and watch the videos by Dr. Matthew Weiner. He is a Bariatric surgeon. I just discovered them today because someone else on the forum mentioned him in a post. I was especially interested in the ones on why you are not losing weight, and are artificial sweeteners making you fat. In the one about artificial sweeteners he mentions how whey Protein shakes (even though his own practice requires them pre-op) can contribute to stalls because of the sweeteners. He explains very well how sweeteners confuse your metabolism. I am going to implement some of his suggestions starting today. Sweeteners are my vice, and now I know that they (and my whey Protein shakes) are slowing my roll, I am going to have to make adjustments. Maybe his videos will help you, too.

Totally feeling better after reading your posts. Felt totally defeated but you are all right. Perhaps I need to look at the sweeteners. I do take in my waters but use flavored liquid in it. Hmmmmm. Crystal light. I will look at those videos.

I will add a day to exercise. Maybe that will help. I haven't lost enough weight for people to notice . I'm rather embarrassed Bc I was very transparent about switching from the band to the sleeve. I lost 80 lbs with the band but had slippage and gained some back. I converted to sleeve. I knew I would drop the 25 lbs with no problem. WRONG. I'm not better off now than I was before.

Do u suggest I stay on my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shakes. ?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
