Soexcited 64 Posted August 18, 2013 Has anyone keep a steady menu that they follow and have or had great results? Hi Joe! How far into your band are you? Are you feeling tight? That makes a big difference on the menu but here is my typical kind of day Breakfast - Protein shake with a banana and whatever other fruit you may like (I use a blendtec blender and it makes it all super smooth) lunch - protien! tuna, turkey, chicken, steak ... whatever you have handy snack - veggies (raw) I snack on broccoli and kale, anything green dinner - Anything! Whatever I want just a small amount Dessert - VERY important I eat Jello pudding (fat free sugar free) and like one piece of candy.< /p>

Watch the sodium content in the pre packaged foods. That stops my wl every time .

Doin' it for me! 3 Posted November 11, 2013 Just curious what you ate today ? Maybe those who are getting banded would also find it interesting to see examples of what we are eating to be sucessful . I will start Banded June 5th Lost 11 Lbs Br- Protein shake Lunch- Applebees Broccoli cheese Soup Snack- Peach Dinner-Sweet Patato , tuna from a can to get Protein Protein Shake before bed Thanks for sharing, I think it would be fun to hear what others are having at different stages to give us ideas. Kim:) I, too have been wondering what people actually eat during a full day. I have a light smoothie with protein for breakfast, one cheese quesadilla for lunch (nothing on the thin tortilla but minimal cheese), and a cup of mac and cheese for dinner. I have been eating the same for 2 weeks now, and have lost 9 lbs. Would you call this normal? I have 5cc's in my band.
Padanelle 2 Posted November 12, 2013 I lost 60 lbs the first year I was banded, and managed to put 20 lbs back. This past year I have made a conscious effort to loose the extra lbs, and am slowly getting back to it - lost 12 blbs since the beginning of the year. I've added Protein powder back to my diet. I don't like the flavored powders, but enjoy unjury unflavored or chicken. I mix it in Soups, mashed potatoes, pudding, and of course beverages - cryastal light, juice, smoothies. It makes a great latte - coffee, low fat milk and some cinnamon or pumpkin spice.
NewMeDebbie 196 Posted November 14, 2013 ok guys, I need help! I am holding steady at the same weight. I was banded 7 weeks ago. I am mostly eating the right things and now walking 2 miles a day 4-5 days a week and going hiking on saturdays for at least 2 miles, sometimes more. I write down everything I eat and I'm going back over the last couple weeks. It seems I get on average of about 1000-1200 cal a day give or take (if I stay away from peanut m&ms!). I eat about 200 cal every couple of hours for about 5 mini-to-avg meals a day. My main focus is to get enough Protein because my biggest fear is my hair falling out. I do take a couple of meds that are on my doctor's list to cause weight gain so wondering if this is an issue also... Yesterday - this is mostly an average day (except when i cave on the chocolate) Breakfast: 4oz light cottage cheese, special k Protein Bar (260 cal) snack: apple (72 cal) lunch: progresso light Soup, sugar free pudding (180 cal) snack: greek yogurt, banana (265 cal) dinner: jack in the box grilled chicken strips (4 strips) (250 cal) TOTAL: 1112 calories for the day (also walked for 35 minutes - almost 2 miles) I've had 1 fill but now have little restriction and just keep my meals small. Am I eating too much? What is the average calories per day you guys are eating? give me some ideas of meals you eat? PLEASE HELP! I still think about eating too much. I am scheduled for a 2nd fill next week.

It's not uncommon at all, to experience a stall/plateau at your time post banding. You see and hear it all the time on here. Kinda seem like your on a diet right now? Thats the way it was for me early on. My suggestion is to stick with the types of food your surgical team has ok'd, and do your best to limit portions and keep up with that walking, etc. It will certainly help. You don't mention...are you eating because you're "hungry" or following an eating plan given by your medical team? Also, if you're concerned about getting enough Protein in, theres a very easy way to accomplish that. Find "New whey liquid protein" shots. 42 grams in 3.5 oz for less than $2 per tube at GNC and other places. I use them occasionally when I'm not hungry. Just hold your nose and swallow! Unless youre like me and don't mind the taste. Hang in there! It gets much better. 1 KAATNS reacted to this

I'm really not sure sometimes if I am hungry, I was just focusing on getting enough Protein and Water as recommended. My team told me not to concern myself with the calories too much just to watch portion size and hunger. I think I have been too over focused on the protein (getting 80-100 gm a day) though and not on the hunger... I am going to recommit today to trying to listed to my body when it comes to hunger!! thanks for the advice! 1 catfish87 reacted to this
