McSteph100 0 Posted September 22, 2008 WHOOPS I did not mean to set anyone off in a bad direction. I just was sort of "observing" that other people eat less than nutritious items for 1-2 or two meals a day, which is my same problem. I was really more shocked by how very little some of you eat compared to me - but I have only had three fills. I think we all do what we have to to get by, and truly over portion and over eating were always my worst problem, so now that is mostly fixed, I am personally trying to eat a little healthier, but it SO HARD sometimes! Here is what I ate today: oatmeal packet, did not finish. Protien shake 1/2 cup chicken salad w/ a few crackers, cheese stick some of my kids animals Cookies 1/2 bottle fruit juice smoothie.< /p> ....and that is all before dinner!
A lot less 1 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Today B- coffee, 1 sausage L- 1/2 cup chicken salad, 5 wheat crackers, 1 boiled egg S- handful of p-nuts D- didn't wk FF cool whip w/ peaches (2 oz) McSteph100, No problem. I too thought that I could never eat less than 2 cups of anything, but as I continued to get my fills, I had more restrictions. There are still days that I can eat more, and sometimes I do. The most part, I do eat less. I may not always get it right, but I can only hold me accountable. I'm not a cook, actually I detest it, but I've gotten some great recipes from this site and everyone has been so gracious and kind to post them. I will be cooking some of them this week.It will get better and less as time goes on. Welcome:thumbup: Hope you post also, JMEGIRL. Edited September 23, 2008 by A lot less changed dinner

Is there a higher brand that I should be looking for? Also...I wished I lived next door to some of you so that you could leave me a plate of your yummy leftovers on the porch...I hate cooking!!!! bigbaby, I make my own hummus which I figure has about 8 g of Protein for 1/4 cup serving. I have noticed the store bought brands don't have very much protein in them. I will be posting the recipe shortly. Amy
AmyBee 0 Posted September 23, 2008 OK ... someone please tell me what this hummus stuff is  Bloo, I am glad you liked the Soup. Hummus is a middle eastern dip made out of chick peas (garbanzo beans). It can be served as a dip for veggies or with pita chips. You can also use it as a spread on sandwiches or wraps. Most grocery stores sell it in their deli area by the specialty cheese area. 1 16 oz can of chickpeas or garbanzo Beans 1/4 cup liquid from can of chickpeas 3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste) 1 1/2 tablespoons tahini 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons olive oil Preparation: Drain chickpeas and set aside liquid from can. Combine remaining ingredients in blender or food processor. Add 1/4 cup of liquid from chickpeas. Blend for 3-5 minutes on low until thoroughly mixed and smooth. Place in serving bowl, and create a shallow well in the center of the hummus. Add a small amount (1-2 tablespoons) of olive oil in the well. Garnish with parsley (optional). Serve immediately with fresh, warm or toasted pita bread, or cover and refrigerate. Variations For a spicier hummus, add a sliced red chile or a dash of cayenne pepper. Storing Hummus Hummus can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and can be kept in the freezer for up to one month. Add a little olive oil if it appears to be too dry. Add sliced bananas-yum.
