georgia girl 35 Posted March 7, 2008 Geogia---DO YOU WORK AT APPLEBEES???? I notice that you have the dip quite often--what's the cal/protein count? Hehehehe! No, I don't work there, but I wish I did, I might get a discount, lol! I absolutely love it, I usually have it about once every week or two. I don't know what the calorie/protein content it (I probably don't need to know or else I may have to stop eating it, lol). It's probably not the best for me, as far as nutritional content, but it's a nice treat when I can have it. It's one of those things that I loved pre-band and I still like to treat myself to it. Today: B'fast- low carb slim fast Lunch- low carb slim fast blended with ice and coffee Dinner- Spinach dip (store-bought, no Applebee's tonight ) with baked tortilla chips
Bergdorfblonde 3 Posted March 7, 2008 You know those morningstar veggie sausages? They taste and smell so real that my dogs go crazy for them when I am heating them up. I checked out the box and they have a huge amount of Protein and Fiber and are low calorie. It's health food that actually tastes like junk food and I love it! bigbaby 4 Posted March 7, 2008 Berg--How much Protein do they have? Georgia--I tried the spinich and artichoke stuffed chicken breast--quite tasty....I was actually full after 1/2---but my greedy self ate the whole thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NukeChik 1 Posted March 7, 2008 Georgia, Just to let you know I found Oikos (sp???) greek yogurt at the Wal-Mart near me. I haven't tried it yet as compared to Fage, but I'm sure it will be fine.
grace65 0 Posted March 7, 2008 Georgia, you are human. It is ok to have a bad day or a moment. And for me, you are an inspiration since I just started. I have weak moments, too. As for now, I am miserable. I am sick of liquids and have one more week of them. Right now nothing is appetizing unless it is something I can't eat. I am having trouble keeping my energy up due to being restricted to one Protein Shake per day. I am off to find that Protein Powder stuff you all talk about. The last two days I added in 1/2 of another shake due to feeling weak. Today I start thick liquids and I am trying to be excited! Yesterday I ate: Protein shake (slimfast low carb/high protein) 1/2 cup chicken broth with tiny bit of velveeta melted in for flavor and protein Campbells Soup at hand mini chicken noodle drained of noodles. I just wanted more flavor besides broth. 1/2 slim fast for more energy drank Water, 2 cups Decaf coffee, and had crystal light Today: Just drank half of a slim fast and 1 cup decaf coffee I am splurging today for lunch! DH got me a cup of LaMadeline Tomato basil soup to celibrate full liquid phase. I know it is high calorie but I am only getting 500-600 a day with this stupid broth diet! I think it is impossible to get too many calories if you follow 1st week post op plan of Clear Liquids and shakes which is what my Dr. ordered. Good news is weight is coming off... down 7lbs since surgery. I will be glad when I feel better and have energy. Last night I broke down in tears just from frustration. Overall, this has been good but there are moments when I just want to eat! Thank goodness for the band or else I would have cheated long ago. This is going to be a good tool for me. I can tell already. food is a big addiction and I am realizing just how big it was for me. Anyway, for Georgia and those of you like us out there... share the low points, too. It helps us all in the long run! Also, thank God for LBT website. I don't know how I would have survived this last week without it!:crying:
Bergdorfblonde 3 Posted March 7, 2008 The vegetarian sausages have a sick amount of Protein and fiber! I am trying to eat 3 400 calorie meals per day for a total of 1200 cals. I know that seems like a lot compared to some people on here who eat 600-800 cals but if I go below that I get so hungry I am about to eat my own arm off! So I eat the whole package for either Breakfast or lunch. I think it had like 400 calories and 45 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber, for the whole thing. They taste amazing! It's like thinking you are eating something greasy and bad and in reality you are eating veggies with all of the protein and fiber you need for the day! Plus I find that fiber really helps weight loss because it basically goes right out of you. I have also been eating this weight loss oatmeal and its great because it has a ton more fiber than regular too. Berg--How much protein do they have? georgia girl 35 Posted March 7, 2008 Georgia--I tried the spinich and artichoke stuffed chicken breast--quite tasty....I was actually full after 1/2---but my greedy self ate the whole thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you like it! Is that the only flavor you bought? The bacon and cheese one is soooooo good, and I also like the mushroom & cheese one. The jalapeno and cheese is a little too hot for me, since we can't drink anything while eating. Georgia, Just to let you know I found Oikos (sp???) greek yogurt at the Wal-Mart near me. When can you start adding in some mushy foods? You will feel a lot better when your doctor gives you the okay to eat mushies. However, I just now am starting to feel like I have some energy, due to the fact I started out so big and I also have hormone imbalances. You're going to do great! Despite your cravings for "real" food, you have chose to follow your doctor's instructions and you seem very motivated, so I'm sure you will do great! I've eaten these sausages since I was a child and I prefer them to "regular" sausages. I love the taste and the nutritional value is just an added bonus. I'm anxious to get to regular foods (5 weeks!) just so I can have a yummy meal of these sausauges! I won't bore ya'll with what I ate today because I'm still on my full liquids phase and mainly doing broth or creamed Soups. I'll be back when I'm able to get my grub on!
