that sounds interesting - where did you get it?

i am waiting on DH to wake up and hit the gym/farmers market/whole foods. i'm up 6lbs in 2wks - which is fine considering the fast loss of 11 when i was sick. but i got to CHECK my appetite & intake here this wk. don't have the time to spend 3hrs in the gym to counter my food:ohmy:

I got in in Ralphs on the isle with stuff for baking. Tried whole foods they didn't have it

I thought it was fantastic! DH even liked it (shocking since he hardly ever tries new things). DS liked it some, but he couldn't get past the fact that it wasn't red like he is used to my Pasta sauces being and I think the taste of the wine threw him a little. I have to try it with the polenta. That sounds so good! I made quite a bit and froze some (that won't affect the flavor will it?).

Slim - in regards to freezing ragu affecting taste - Not at all - I always make big batches and freeze most of it.

OK lu - one of the items at the brunch: a shrimp enchilada - the waiter kept trying to tell me they just use corn tortillas - but I call bluff (I don't think he was intentionally misleading - I just don't think he's a foodie)

I could tell that instead of tortillas they had used a corn based crepe - so tender, hint of sweetness - unbelievably melt in your mouth. It was filled with chopped shrimp, spinach and a creamy spicy white 'queso' style sauce.

I love enchiladas - and this might have been the best one I have ever eaten.

Thinking about creating it and one combining chicken and a mole sauce inside the corn crepe (might even make a blue corn crepe)

And I will cover them with diced avocado!

I love mexican food - it is the one food group (yes - I consider it one) that I never have to be in the mood for.

and per dad's request - just made chocolate covered strawberries

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
